Opening of the India Season
Opening of the India Season
e need to trust the Great Spirit that inhabits us to eliminate the ‘no’s in our lives.” With this message, Prem Baba opened the season of satsangs in India. He also proposed a challenge: for every seeker to conquer their fears through illuminating knowledge.
The opening of the India season took place on February 2. Just as the sacred Ganges flows to the sea, it was a most auspicious date to open the spiritual journey for the pilgrims that came to be with the guru. In the Afro-Brazilian religious traditions, which honor elemental gods and goddesses called Orixás, this date is dedicated to the Orixá Yemanjá—one of the forms of the Universal Mother.
“We need to allow ourselves to trust in the Great Spirit that inhabits us. With the grace of the Guru, Saccha Baba, we have the opportunity to do this spiritual study in a sacred place: at the foot of the Himalayas, on the banks of the Ganges, on this land that has been blessed by the feet of so many saints and yogis.”
“In this planetary moment, many Brazilian communities are paying reverence to a specific aspect of the Great Mother, the Queen of the Sea. And within these devotional songs there is a request for the repairing of family relationships. In her deep waters, may Yemanjá transmute the terrors left behind by our ancestors; may she heal the wounds of humiliation and the pains that have reverberated for many generations. This is the moment for her decendents to illuminate this pattern of suffering with the purest light of love.“ These were the first words that Sri Prem Baba spoke to his devotees this season.
The hall at Saccha Dam Ashram in Rishikesh, North India, was crowded with devotees. The satsang began with devotional songs honoring Yemanjá and Ganga, a divine entity who represents the Ganges River and is revered by the Hindus for her ability to protect both gods and humans. Sri Prem Baba welcomed spiritual seekers who came from around the world, filling the hall with love.
A group of Chinese devotees made a proclamation that brought great joy to the guru: “The light of Saccha Baba is shining in every part of the planet, going beyond borders and limits.” It showed how the lineage of the Saccha gurus has found fertile ground in which to germinate the seed that is their mission: to awaken humanity from the lethargic dream of illusions created by the game of the mind.
“Throughout our spiritual work this season in India, we will have the chance to remember spiritual things and walk the path of illumination and of the heart. This includes moments of healing to truly wake us up and pull all discord and doubt into our hearts.”
“When we illuminate our true dimensions of love, we have access to the true light, which dissolves the darkness of the creations of the mind. It is this force of love that can interrupt the vicious cycle of suffering.”
In a devotional, relaxed and joyful atmosphere, Sri Prem Baba remembered a message that he received from a disciple, who said, “Yes, Baba Ji, Yes.” Prem Baba reflected, “This is a crucial part of the process of overcoming our contradictions. Eliminating the ‘no’s for the Being to flow generates union, love, prosperity and health. We need to allow ourselves to trust in the Great Spirit that inhabits us. With the grace of the Guru, Saccha Baba, we have the opportunity to do this spiritual study in a sacred place: at the foot of the Himalayas, on the banks of the Ganges, on this land that has been blessed by the feet of so many saints and yogis.”
Sri Prem Baba then summarized the meaning of the opening satsang by saying:
“On this day, which is dedicated to the Great Universal Mother, the Sacred and Eternal Feminine that inhabits us is beginning another journey—opening another spiritual portal—that allows us to ascend and access parts of our consciousness which we normally cannot access.”
He then explained the path ahead to the devotees and seekers. He also shared his desire for them to enjoy the experiences of this year’s India satsangs, which will run through March.
“We can reach the spiritual dimensions through illuminating love’s capacity to release us from the creations of the mind, which are fed by negative emotions. When we illuminate our true dimensions of love, we have access to the true light, which dissolves the darkness of the creations of the mind. It is this force of love that can interrupt the vicious cycle of suffering.”
